learning german is a love and hate learning journey. The beginning is difficult and it gets maybe tougher but definitely more lyrical as I discover the colloquial language or the slangs and in german ‘Umgangssprache’. I love how complicated and hilarious the language can be. I remembered the many occasions when German grammar gets on my nerves and now I don’t fight it anymore. I learnt that the easiest and most enjoyable way to learn german is to embrace its elegance, its complications and you will find the soul to this language kitchen. german for runways is a collection of slangs, phrases and idioms that I have learnt from my family and friends around me.  My wonderful friend, Kirsten inspired the blogname. She suggested german for runaways, which, in german is deutsch für fortgeschrittene and means german for advanced level but since the blogname is already taken, I thought why don’t we just put a twist to it and change it to german for runway. The original meaning is different but nonetheless the contents are as what I have intended. I hope that ‘du laachst dech kapott’ while enjoying my blog. Bis bald.

Life the language, have fun with it and just talk don’t worry about what everyone is telling you ….and the accent that goes with it …I love it…
